About Me

My name is Justin Harris and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I look forward to connecting with you and getting to know you, and I want to thank you for taking this step towards your care and growth.

A little more about me: I am a queer man who absolutely loves this work. After working for nine years in a different field, constantly thinking about what else may be out there for me and knowing somewhere deep down that becoming a therapist was a longtime dream, I knew I needed a change. A friend shared about his work experience, saying “I just wasn’t feeling spiritually nourished.” I resonated deeply with that statement and was inspired to take the leap into this field. I can say with confidence that I am spiritually nourished in my work today. I believe in the power of therapy and my work is informed by my own experience as an individual.

I graduated from California Institute of Integral Studies with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and an emphasis on Integral Counseling Psychology. To me, being an integral therapist means that, while I have my specializations and therapeutic stance as my foundation, I draw from many different approaches, theories, and modalities to offer the best care possible that meets you where you are at.

My Approach

My interest is in getting to know you. To understand you. Not just who you are, but how you are. I believe in the process of therapy and its power, and that we engage in this process together. I trust you and your inner knowing to bring forward the aspects of you that are needing attention and care. We will discuss and explore those aspects together, looking at how and when they started, how you are experiencing them currently, and how we can increase support.

I will be present and active in our relationship with acceptance, kindness, and warmth, and while this work is sensitive, vital, and serious, I find laughter and humor to be a key component and bring those in as well.
